A color palette generator suggests sets of colors that work well together, so you don't have to guess which hex codes belong side by side. This one builds every palette from real color theory relationships, not random values, so what you get already looks intentional: five colors, a hex code and an approximate name for each, ready to lock, reorder, and export straight into your project.
How to use the color palette generator
Press the spacebar to generate a new palette; Multio swaps in fresh colors while keeping any you've locked. Click the lock icon on a color to hold it in place, click a color's hex code to copy it to your clipboard, and drag a color by its handle to move it to a different spot in the palette. Pick a color scheme from the harmony menu, or leave it on "Auto" to see a mix of styles as you generate.
What is a color scheme, and what do complementary and analogous mean?
A color scheme is a rule for picking colors that relate to each other on the color wheel instead of clashing. Complementary colors sit opposite each other on the wheel and create bold, high-contrast pairings. Analogous colors sit next to each other and blend smoothly for a calmer, more unified feel. Triadic schemes use three colors spaced evenly around the wheel for a vibrant, balanced look, and monochromatic schemes use a single hue in different shades for a clean, minimal palette. Multio can generate any of these on demand.
Exporting your palette
Click "Export palette" to download your palette as a PNG image or an SVG file, copy it as CSS custom properties, a JavaScript array, or a Tailwind config block, or download it as a PDF. Everything is generated right in your browser: nothing is uploaded, and the PDF library only loads if you actually choose to export a PDF.

How do I choose colors for a design or brand?
Start with the mood you want: complementary palettes feel bold and energetic, analogous palettes feel calm and unified, triadic palettes feel vibrant and balanced, and monochromatic palettes feel clean and minimal. Pick a harmony type above, press spacebar until something clicks, then lock the colors you want to keep and regenerate the rest. That's usually faster than picking five colors from scratch.
How do I export colors to CSS or Tailwind?
Click "Export palette" and choose "Code" to reveal three ready-to-paste snippets: CSS custom properties (--color-1 through --color-5), a plain JavaScript array of hex values, and a Tailwind config block you can drop into your theme colors. Each snippet has its own copy button, so there is nothing to retype by hand.
Can I reorder or lock colors in the palette?
Yes. Drag a color by its handle to move it to a different position without changing any of the colors. Click the lock icon on any color to keep it in place the next time you generate: only the unlocked colors change, so you can build a palette around one color you already like.
