What is this shopping list tool for?
This is a simple shopping list you can build in seconds and keep coming back to. Add what you need, put a price next to each item if you want to track spending, and check things off as you grab them. It's built for the real errand: standing in an aisle, adding one more item, seeing what the trip is going to cost before you reach the register.
How do I use the shopping list?
Type an item into the box at the top and press Enter, or hit Add. Each item gets its own row with a price field, a checkbox, and its name. Click the name to rename it. Check the box once you've picked something up: it gets struck through and fades, so your eye goes straight to what's left. The running total at the top adds up every price on the list, checked or not, since checking an item off just means you already have it in the cart.
How do categories work?
Categories group items by wherever you're buying them: a grocery store, a pharmacy, a hardware store, whatever your errands look like. Click "Category" under an item, then type a new category name or pick one you've already used. Each item can belong to one category at a time, so picking a new one moves it out of the old one. Grouped items collapse into a section you can expand or hide with a click, and a category disappears automatically once nothing is assigned to it. Click the small × on an item's category to move it back to the uncategorized list at the top.
Is my shopping list saved?
Yes. Everything you add, including prices, checked items, and categories, is saved in your browser automatically, so it's still there the next time you open this page. Nothing is uploaded anywhere: the list never leaves your device.
