A word guessing game in five languages

Word Guess is a Wordle-style word game: figure out a hidden word before you run out of tries. Pick English, Spanish, French, German, or Brazilian Portuguese from the language menu and the game switches its word list, keyboard, and instructions to match. It runs entirely in your browser, works offline once the page has loaded, and you can play as many rounds as you want.

How to play

Type a guess and press Enter (or tap Enter on the on-screen keyboard) to submit it. Each guess has to be a real word of the right length. After you submit, every letter changes color to tell you how close you got: green means the letter is correct and in the right spot, yellow means the letter is in the word but in the wrong spot, and gray means the letter isn't in the word at all. Use those clues to narrow things down on your next guess. You get 6 tries to find the word. Win or lose, you can start a new game right away with a fresh random word.

Is Word Guess free?

Yes. It's free to play, with no account, sign-up, or download needed.

Does it work offline?

Once the page and your chosen language's word list have loaded, the game keeps working without an internet connection, since everything runs in your browser.

Which languages are supported?

English, Spanish, French, German, and Brazilian Portuguese. You can switch languages at any time from the menu above the board, and only the word list for the language you pick gets loaded.

Is my data collected?

No. There's no server behind this game. Your language choice, sound preference, and simple play stats are saved only in your own browser, and nothing about the words you guess is ever sent anywhere.

Can I play unlimited games?

Yes. Every new game picks a fresh random word, so you can keep playing as many rounds as you like.
